Superbowl Ad: Sex and Body Image

The company planters used an obviously and purposely unattractive young woman to sell their Peanuts. The entire commercial was done in jest, but the point of the commercial was to say that by eating Planters Nuts that even unattractive women can draw attention from the opposite sex.

I think that the commercial was pretty funny even though it may have been done in poor taste. Using unattractive women as an example of what men don't want and then putting their product on them to seduce men is crude and insensitive to all the ugly women out there. But it is the Super bowl and everyone knows the ads are in jest and people should take it with a grain of salt and not get so upset about it.
